How does a VDCI online class work?

All our courses are 100% online. That means there is no need to show up to a classroom. Instead, you are able to work at your own pace with set due dates that help you stay on track. You can access your lectures, readings, and assignments anytime, anywhere, via the web or your mobile device.

Starting off, you will log into the VDCI Learning Hub. This is where you will access all the necessary course file downloads, watch all the lesson videos, and complete all the required quizzes and assignments for each course that your instructor has prepared for you.

VDCI offers two main types of courses. Lecture-based and Project-based.

For Lecture-Based

  • Students will watch and take notes on pre-recorded videos.
  • Assignments consist of the discussion forum and quizzes.
  • There is no final or midterm.
  • All lecture-based courses are created and taught by working professionals in the AEC industry.
  • Most can easily be taken on a tablet or other mobile device.
  • You are given 18-day access to the course.
  • Instant Access Self-Paced versions are available.

For Project-Based

  • Students will follow along with pre-recorded videos to create each project
  • It is recommended to have either two monitors or a separate device so that you can follow along while simultaneously watching the course videos
  • Assignments consist of the discussion forum, quizzes, and project submissions
  • There is a midterm and a final. These are typically submissions of your project.
  • All project-based courses are created and taught by working professionals in the AEC industry.
  • You are given 18-day access to the course.
  • Project-based courses must be taken during a scheduled session. However, you can access the course whenever you want within each scheduled session.
