Do you have a scholarship? How do I apply?
The Al Whitley Memorial Scholarship
The Al Whitley Memorial Scholarship was created in honor of Al Whitley, the founder of VDCI. The scholarship embodies Al Whitley’s enduring legacy, serving as a beacon of opportunity for aspiring professionals in the AEC field, fostering their growth and dedication to excellence.
The scholarship funds can be applied to any of the VDCI Nationally Accredited Programs – Fast-Track Programs and Certificate Programs. These programs range from 3-10 months and feature fast-paced, asynchronous online learning to prepare students for a job in the AEC industry. The programs offered include training in CAD, BIM and Digital Design software, such as Autodesk AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, SketchUp, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.
Prospective students and active students can apply for the scholarship. The scholarship is a tuition reduction scholarship totaling up to $2,000.00 for the specified Program. Scholarship funds are applied to any remaining balance due toward a program and cannot be used to cover any initial payments toward a program. Cash funds are not distributed to the student as a part of this scholarship.
How to Apply
The best way to apply is to visit the Al Whitley Memorial Scholarship page. There, you will find the application schedule, as well as the Apply Now button. This button will take you to the scholarship application, where you will fill out your details and work or community service experience and complete two essay questions.
After the application period ends, a panel will review each application and select an awardee, who will then be notified directly.
