A comprehensive review of project sheets is crucial in ensuring coherence and accuracy before printing. This article walks through the process of examining each sheet of a completed project, checking for schedules, plans, and dimensions, and making necessary adjustments.
Key Insights
- The article emphasizes the importance of reviewing each sheet of a project, starting from the end and working backwards to ensure that all details, such as schedules and partition details, are accurate.
- Dimensions are a crucial part of the project review, ensuring that each element of the project is properly sized and placed. The article demonstrates how to activate views, zoom in, select dimensions, and adjust them as necessary.
- Layering is another important aspect of project review, as demonstrated in the article. The process involves going to the layer, scrolling into the desired layer, making it the current layer, and making necessary adjustments.

Now that our project is complete, let's go back through each sheet just to make sure everything is looking okay before we print our set. We'll start at I501 and work backwards. We want to make sure we have our three schedules and our partition detail.
201, we have our bathroom enlarged plan and our four elevations, restroom accessories, and general notes. 105 is all about our ceiling. Now I'm noticing one thing we didn't finish.
We didn't add dimensions to our document room. Let's double click and activate the view. We'll zoom in here and we'll select on one of these existing dimensions and take a look at its properties.
We'll see here it's on the IAnnoDimsLight for light dimensions. We'll go to layer, IAnnoDims, scroll into IAnnoDimsLight, make that the current layer, and let's type in dim linear. We'll dimension between these L4s, but we're still stuck on that inches style which we used in our elevations.
We'll delete that and we'll do dim style and let's go back to AEC dimension small. Select it and click on set current and close. Now we'll do dim linear and we'll dimension between the L4s again.
10 feet, that's perfect. Dim linear and we'll go to the grid line from L4 here to this grid line right there and down. That's our four foot eight.
We'll repeat this again. L4 to the wall and that's four foot eight. Now let's go the opposite direction.
We'll go vertical and let's go between this L4 and the grid line here. Let's go out a little ways, there we go, and repeat that process all the way up to here, 10 feet, and to the wall. That looks good.
Let's just drop one down to this L4 down below. So from here to this L4, four foot eight, and we'll extend this dimension line out as well. Here to here, four foot eight, here to here is our 10 foot and here to here is going to take us to that wall and we're all set.
Let's just go ahead and move that 10 foot down a little bit so it doesn't conflict with the break room. That looks pretty good. We'll double click back in paper space and we're all set with our ceiling, reflected ceiling plan.
Let's go to 104. This looks really good, so we'll continue on to 103. Furniture plan also in good shape.
- We've got our partitions. Those are looking good.
101 looks good and 002 needs our help. It's our existing plan. Let's do a couple of things to help it out.
Number one, let's just double click, activate the view, and then number two, we'll type in layer and our life safety, our A-life safe egress. We need to hide that, but only in the view. We'll click the button for VP freeze and hide it just in that view.
Close down layers. All right, that looks pretty good. Now we'll add one more thing.
Let's go back to layer. Let's see if we have, go to the top, ANOdims, ANOnote exist. Let's go ahead and unfreeze that and see what we get here.
So in our VP freeze, we'll open that up and that shows the areas that we currently have. So that should be fine. We'll unfreeze that and then we're going to set that as a current layer.
ANOnote exists. Double click and we can do our dim linear and we can add our dimensions right here between grid lines. So 20 feet right here, 20 feet, and we'll repeat that down there to there.
Make them line up and then on the left hand side, we'll do the same thing. Dim linear three to two. We'll click enter.
We'll start that command all over again. Here to here and line it up. Whoops, that didn't quite work out.
We'll do it one more time. Dim linear here to here and line it up. And there we go.
A little bit more information on our existing plan. That looks good. Now let's go to I001 and everything looks good there.
Go ahead and hit that save button.
