Online Learning Made Easy

At VDCI, we place a great emphasis on providing our students with an intuitive platform for online learning. VDCI goes to great lengths to ensure our students have all the necessary support and resources to succeed in their career education. From our instructors to our learning platform, we have built an optimal online learning environment that is just as intuitive and interactive as in-person classes — whether or not you have experience with remote learning. Below are a few extra steps you can take to set yourself up for a successful learning experience.

We provide the necessary tools and instructional support to make learning easy and engaging no matter where you are. Throughout your training with us we provide dedicated one-on-one support; we want you to succeed!

All the Resources You Need in One Place

Remote learning can seem daunting, especially without the right resources at your disposal. At VDCI, we have removed roadblocks to the online learning environment to help you confidently achieve your educational goals.

  • Accelerated courses — complete each course in just 30 days
  • Work on your own schedule – 24/7 access to the material while enrolled in a course
  • Interact with your peers in the discussion forums
  • Receive expert advice and feedback on your submissions and projects
  • Learn at your convenience — no required login times or live sessions
  • Video lecture outlines to create your own schedule
  • Lessons unlock as you work through them at your own pace
  • Unlimited access to videos with playback speed selection
  • No required textbooks or additional materials

Getting Your Computer Ready

Computer Hardware

  • Before starting, please review the hardware requirements listed in your Individual Course, Course Bundle, or Certificate Program.
  • Make sure you have the most recent version of the Google Chrome internet browser installed to load the Learning Hub and course materials.

Dual Monitors

  • We recommend using two monitors for our software courses. One monitor can be used to view course videos and the other to display the software program you’ll be learning.
  • If you do not have dual monitors, you can use a laptop or tablet to view the course videos and another computer to work on the software.

Internet Bandwidth

  • To avoid any issues during your online learning experience, it is essential to have access to good-quality Internet bandwidth with a download speed of 10 Mbps.

Getting Organized for Class

Local Course Folder

  • We recommend that you keep all of your course materials in one folder.
  • We suggest creating a folder on your “Local C Drive” and populating it with the required VDCI files.

Welcome & Resources

  • Each VDCI course will have a Welcome & Resources section that holds your syllabus, course video outline, and relevant PDFs.
  • We suggest reviewing the syllabus and course video outline before starting your class and creating a study schedule. This will help you allocate your time and have a plan to help you stay on track before the course begins.

Getting Familiar With Course Videos

  • Watching Course Videos
  • Because VDCI courses are accelerated, course videos are dense with information. We recommend watching videos at least twice through, once to take notes and digest the information, and again to follow along in the software.
  • After your class ends, you will not have access to the course videos, so taking thorough notes is highly encouraged.
  • For software classes, we recommend setting aside 10-15 hours a week to complete the course material successfully.
