Let's add the power plans to our electrical set. We find them in our project browser under Electrical, Floor Plans, Power Plan. The first one is L1 Power Plan.
Let's double click to open it. We'll need to make just a couple of changes before we place this on our sheet. Number one, it's currently set to 1 8th inch equals 1 foot, which won't fit on our sheet.
So let's go ahead and update the template here in the properties of this floor plan under Identity Data, which requires some scrolling down to find. There's the view template. It's set to Electrical Power Plan.
We'll click that Electrical Power Plan and we can find the view scale here. It's set to 1 8th inch equals a foot. And we'll drop that down to 3 30 seconds equals a foot and click OK.
We don't see a ton of change other than the text labels look a bit bigger. Everything looks more or less OK. If we want to take a moment, we can update some of our tags so that things aren't quite overlapping and that can look OK.
We don't need to spend a ton of time doing that, but we can take just a moment, especially the electrical room. It's so important to our plan to make sure that is legible. So make sure things aren't overlapping and we're good to go with our electrical room.
Let's just look around a little bit more. I think overall, this looks pretty OK. We are set.
Now, the cool thing about using the view templates is this will also update L2 Power Plan. But let's just double click on it to make sure. Double check right here, L2 Power Plan.
It did update. It's also 3 30 seconds equals a foot. And if we want to, we can adjust a few of our room tags to make sure we don't have any weird overlapping.
Just take a look at it one more time. Looks like we have the library and the corridor showing up from below. So let's go ahead and delete those two.
Those are down on level one. We don't need to have extra tags. We'll go ahead, leave a couple of these tags.
And I think we'll be pretty good right here. OK, now that we have this. Oh, I see one more, this corridor.
Again, an extra tag. We can select it and delete it. Don't need that.
Just to make this look a little bit cleaner. Everything nice and organized and easy to read on our plan. All right.
That looks pretty good. We'll call it good on our plans. They're all prepped.
Now we need to have some new sheets to receive these plans. So I'm going to scroll down to my sheets. Sheets, right click, new sheet.
And I want that VDCI 30 × 42. I'll click OK. And everything is blank right here.
I want to give this a new name. So the new name will be power plan level one. And we want to give it a new sheet number as well.
And the new sheet number will be E110. Awesome. And it just moves right into place in our sheets.
Let's go ahead and create another sheet for the second level. Right click on sheets, new sheet. VDCI 30 × 42 and click OK.
And we'll give this a new name as well. This one is power plan level two. And the sheet number is E120.
And we're all set. We've got our two sheets. They look good.
Nice and blank. But we'll add in our power plans now. Let's go back to E110.
We'll start with level one. Make sure that's active and bold. And then we'll scroll up to find our power plans again.
So floor plan, power plan, L1 power plan. We'll drag and drop it over our sheet. And we'll notice that it pretty much fits.
You can see that rectangle fits right here onto the sheet. And I can click to place it. And that looks really good.
I might want to adjust the view title. If I don't want to have such a long line, I can adjust it. I can even move the title closer to the floor plan if I wish.
All right. Now we want to wrap up this sheet by including some notes. We're going to scroll back to our legends area.
And we notice that we have two that haven't been used yet. The first one is a power plan general notes. That's the one we want.
We'll drag and drop and put it in the top left corner. And it looks pretty good, except that it already has its own title. We can remove this title.
We do that by selecting its properties and swapping it out from title with line to no title. So viewport, no title. And up here in the upper left.
I just move it up a little bit more. And that looks really good. Okay.
Now in Revit, it can be tricky to get the second floor to line up with the first. Different ways to do it. The trick I like to use is pretty visual.
I just draw a line from a common point. So the classroom wing wraps around and this lower left corner, absolute lowest left corner, I can draw a line right there. So I'll go to my annotate tab, detail line.
I'll zoom in pretty tight. Click right on that corner. And I'll draw a line to the corner of the sheet.
So just a random detail line. But you'll notice that it connects the corner bottom left of the sheet to the bottom left of the building. So I will select that.
And I'll hold control. And I also want my general notes. And I'll do control C on my keyboard to copy.
Control C to copy. And the general notes, it's going to come over no problem. And I want the line as an alignment tool for the plan.
Now I can go back to my E120. It's currently blank. I'm going to go up to the modify tab.
And under paste, I want aligned to current view. And it will place the general notes and that line in the exact same location that it is on the level one sheet. And general notes are good.
This line will just help me place the level two power plan. So let's go ahead and do that now. Level two power plan.
Find it in the project browser under floor plans. Drag and drop it in. And we'll see it pretty much fits.
I'll just click close to where it needs to go. And then I'll zoom in really tight. And I can grab that building corner and drag it to the end of that diagonal line.
Right there. I can even zoom in again one more time if I want to be perfectionistic and get it really close to where it wants to be. I can even use the arrows.
And there's a limit to this. I only have to zoom in so far. It'll be fine.
And it'll be right in line with the other plan. All right. So that looks really good.
I can select it. I can shorten that view title and move it up in a similar location to the first floor plan. And now I can delete the two guidelines.
First on the level two sheet. Go back to the level one sheet and delete it here as well. If I do ZE on my keyboard for zoom extents and do that to both sheets, I'll notice I can transition between the two floor plans.
And I don't really get a balance. They're in the same place, which looks really professional. If I want to take it to the next level, I could do that same line trick with my view title.
But we'll call it good for now. I think these sheets look really good. If we recall, we had one more legend that hasn't been used.
And that's the lighting drop. Where do we want to place that? Let's go ahead back to our sheets. We have this enlarged lighting plan.
And it's all about the lighting and the details of the lighting. So I think it's a great place to add that detail. Let's go ahead and find it here.
Back to legend, our lighting drop, and we will drag and drop the lighting drop. There it is. And it's a detail on E430.
I need to select it and change its properties to no title. And then I can also align it with its neighbor. Just bring it really close.
Line those title lines up and then I move it straight across and they will be lined up looking super professional. Wonderful. That's making our electrical set look really good.
