The BIM 322 course focuses on using Revit for MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) plumbing, guiding students through the process of creating and managing plumbing systems within architectural models. It starts with setting up a project using a plumbing-specific template and linking it to an architectural model, ensuring proper alignment through level adjustments and copy monitoring. Students learn how to create efficient piping layouts, set up sections, and determine points of contact for hot and cold water distribution systems, all while maintaining coordination between plumbing, architectural, and other systems.
As the course progresses, students develop their skills in detailing piping systems, adjusting pipe sizes, adding connectors for fixtures like water heaters, and refining system layouts. This includes managing vertical sections, ensuring proper alignment of pipes, and addressing system clashes in Revit. The course also covers the creation of gas pipe networks, fixture adjustments, and setting up plumbing sheets with consistent view templates and tags. Students finalize their work by reviewing and exporting their Revit models, ensuring that all systems are aligned and operational for the final project submission.
Throughout the course, practical topics such as slope piping, sanitary systems, vent systems, and tag management are emphasized. By the end of the course, students have a comprehensive understanding of Revit's tools for MEP plumbing and are equipped to model, document, and export complete plumbing systems for various building projects.
Your instructor is an Autodesk Certified Instructor and is a practicing MEP Engineering Professional who uses Revit MEP on a daily basis. This online Revit MEP training class will be taught from the MEP engineer’s and designer’s perspective. Architects and others will also improve and enhance their Revit MEP skills to gain more valuable Revit and Revit MEP insight, especially regarding the creation of family files.

Refined over many years for an optimal learning experience
This training will definitely help my career. I was able to show my supervisor and co-workers what Revit has to offer and what I'm capable of when the time comes for creating that BIM Team in the future. I was able to provide documentation to my employer that the money spent was well worth it and the training I received at VDCI will become an asset moving forward.
