Welcome to lesson two of our BIM 371 Twinmotion interior rendering course. This lesson we're going to focus on helping you take your raw model and turn it into a visually rich well-composed scene. We're going to go into detail on all of the settings, all the tools, how everything, what you need to do to make it look right.
How to bring everything to life. First, we'll look at applying and adjusting materials right through here. We'll browse through the material library, apply them, drag and drop, and then fine-tune the surfaces using the settings specific to each of those.
We will also look into Megascan materials and how to use those. Next, we'll look into camera views, setting up your media, setting up images, animations, panoramas, those three big ones primarily. How to use them to build a visual story.
They're essentially not only for rendering, but organizing your presentation workflow. And we'll then spend two parts exploring the environmental settings in each of these scenes. We'll look at dynamic sky, HDRI sky, sun direction, and then in part two, we'll simulate weather, seasons, fog, wind, and water, which is critical for creating that mood and realism.
And that's over here, if you click on the image one, that's underneath the environment tool right here. From there, we'll take a deep dive into camera settings. You'll learn how to adjust depth of field, the field of view, lens settings, exposure, creating cinematic well-framed visuals.
And then we'll move into rendering settings down here. And here we can look at two different render engines, or essentially three different render engines. Real-time versus Path Tracer, which is our engine.
And then within real-time, two different global illumination settings, standard and lumen. When to use what, what sort of settings are good for either of those, as they each treat light and shadows and color differently. And finally, I will wrap up with the visual effects and exporting effects, which looks at, you know, contrast, saturation, and then exporting settings, what settings to do, what to export, how to export, what size, you know, how long is this going to take.
Each topic ultimately builds on the last. So make sure to follow along, take lots of good notes. I feel like you might want to reference back to these videos later in the course, if you have a hard time understanding, especially some of the lighting and environmental settings.
Those are very tricky, very particular, every scene works a little bit different. We're going to understand how that works, and some of the issues that may come up with it. And then by the end of this lesson, you should have enough information for us to dive right into creating a rendering from a model that we are providing.
