Discover the exciting updates and improvements in the newest version of Twinmotion, Twinmotion 2025. The new version offers enhanced workflow, presentation capabilities, and impressive features such as volumetric clouds, lighting and rendering enhancements, accurate shadow maps, and more.

Key Insights

  • The latest version of Twinmotion, Twinmotion 2025, introduces volumetric clouds, allowing users to manually control the clouds in the sky, adding a more realistic atmosphere and depth. Users can control cloud density, altitude coverage and even animate the clouds to move slowly through the sky.
  • Other notable updates include lighting and rendering enhancements that allow for creative movement of lights and rendering of 2D orthographical views. Accurate shadow maps provide crisper, more controlled lighting, and the camera path animations have been improved with orbit rings and smoother tangents.
  • Twinmotion 2025 also introduces a new measure tool for quick distance checks, and a new configuration panel that allows for saving multiple design options in a single scene, useful for client presentations. The software's real-time shadow improvements also support orthographic shadows, beneficial for plane view and elevations.

So in this video, we are going to talk about what's new in the newest version of Twinmotion. The newest version of Twinmotion is 2025.

As of recording this video, in the new version, it brings several exciting updates and quality of life improvements to enhance your workflow and presentation capabilities. One of the most visual changes is volumetric clouds. So these are essentially you have more manual control of the clouds in the sky, which can add more realistic atmosphere and depth to the sky.

You can now control cloud density, altitude coverage,  and even animate the clouds to move slowly through the sky. If you go on the website here,  you can see kind of some of the new things talking about. Different configurations that you can create within this, where you can you can quickly turn it on and off, you know,  materials for the floor, kind of turn on lights, open up cabinets, so kind of get more like presentation quality images, where you can create some stuff.

Lighting and rendering enhancements,  where you can use, you can light various images together, you can create movement of lights,  a lot more creativity in the lights. You can render out 2D orthographical views. So Twinmotion 2024 on the left versus 2025 on the right.

Accurate shadow maps. So on the left,  it was kind of more blurry. Now we can get more of this kind of crisp, accurate lighting,  smooth, controlled camera motions, automotive design, and there's more.

More trees,  things like that. The real-time shadow improvements, going back up here. So these support the orthographic shadows, so great for plane view and elevations, which is great for working with more diagrams or tentacle views.

You can, there's a new measure tool, which quickly will allow you to check distances. The camera path animations have been enhanced with orbit rings,  smoother tangents, and the new configuration panel lets you save multiple design options in a single scene. Different furniture layouts, materials, masks, and studies.

This is useful for client presentations. So 2025, there's a pretty big step forward with it. I definitely want to talk more about the clouds.

I'm going to jump into the 3D model and just kind of briefly show you what's happening with the clouds. So like say, for example, here, I want to click my scene that I set up, this image one, and if I go over here to the right, we're going to dive much more into what this looks like. But dynamic clouds, essentially, if you scroll all the way down the cloud, there's a thing called volumetric clouds.

And this will create these clouds in the sky, create this kind of style, but you can actually change the height of these clouds. You can change the appearance,  the scale, how big these clouds are, you know, where they're at in the sky, the density of the clouds, you know. So, so many different features and stuff that we can do for the clouds in the sky, which is, which is really nice.

So that's one pretty cool feature in 2025, as well as just the overall just like quality of renderings and lighting that we're going to get. So in the next video lessons, we're going to be diving into a much more detailed settings on how to set up lighting, how to add materials, how to add plants and trees and furniture in much more detail. This was just a quick kind of brief overview of everything that's in here.

You know, there's a few, there's more things to talk about, certainly, that we're going to go jump into. And there's a lot in this program. It's a very fun and exciting program.

And I'm really excited to dive into this course more and really get you to how to create these visualizations of architecture into these beautiful images. Thank you for joining and we'll see you in the next lesson.
