What Are the System Requirements for Procore?

What are the system requirements for Procore?

Since Procore is a cloud-based construction management platform, you access it through a web browser rather than installing it on your computer. This means everyday performance depends less on your processor or graphics card and more on a reliable, high-speed internet connection and an up-to-date browser. More demanding tasks—particularly viewing 3D models and BIM coordination in Procore's Models tool—do benefit from stronger hardware. Below are the system requirements for Procore. If you are enrolling in a Construction Management with Procore course or the Construction Management Certification Course at VDCI, our staff can help you confirm that your computer, mobile device, and connection are ready before you begin. Keep in mind that these can change as Procore is updated, so it is a good idea to check Procore's website for the most up-to-date system requirements.

For students and professionals in construction management, meeting these system requirements is crucial to ensure smooth and efficient work with project documentation, drawings, specifications, and models. Optimizing your setup to handle larger project files and complex models will enhance productivity and reduce the likelihood of performance-related delays. As cloud-based construction platforms like Procore continue to evolve, staying informed about supported browsers and recommended hardware will ensure that your setup remains compatible with the latest features and tools. Regularly reviewing the requirements on Procore's website will help you maintain optimal performance throughout your coursework and on the job.

Supported web browsers

Software Requirements
Procore is primarily accessed through a web browser, so no desktop installation is required. For the best experience, use the latest version of a supported browser:
Google Chrome (latest version) is strongly recommended for optimal performance and compatibility.
Microsoft Edge (latest version).
Mozilla Firefox (latest version).
Apple Safari (latest version, for Mac users).
Using an up-to-date browser helps ensure full compatibility and optimal performance.

Internet connection

A reliable, high-speed internet connection is recommended whenever you access Procore. Stable connectivity is especially important when working with project documentation, drawings, specifications, and 3D models.

Computer hardware

Recommended Hardware Requirements
A current version of Windows 10/11 or macOS.
A modern multi-core processor.
At least 16 GB of RAM.
A solid-state drive (SSD) is recommended.
A dedicated graphics card is recommended for model viewing and navigation.

Minimum Hardware Requirements
A modern multi-core processor.
8 GB of RAM.
A stable internet connection.
While Procore runs on most modern computers, students working with larger project files and models will have a better experience with the recommended hardware above.

Procore Models requirements (BIM and 3D model viewing)

Viewing Navisworks® models in Procore's Models tool is more demanding than standard Procore use. For the best experience on a computer:
Supported Browser: Google Chrome (latest version) is strongly recommended. If you are on a computer with 16 GB of RAM and a model will not load in Chrome, try Mozilla Firefox or a supported mobile device—Firefox can perform better on systems with limited memory.
Operating System: A current version of Windows 10/11 or macOS.
Processor (CPU): Intel Core i5 / AMD Ryzen 5 or better.
Memory (RAM): 32 GB or more recommended for large or complex models; 16 GB minimum.
Internet: A stable, high-speed connection.

Mobile device requirements

Procore offers mobile apps for iOS and Android. Make sure your device runs a supported operating system version and has enough free storage for project files and updates.
Operating System: Your device must meet the current requirements for the Procore iOS app or Procore Android app.
Storage: Allow enough free space to download models—a good rule of thumb is four times the model (NWD) file size, for example 8 GB of free space for a 2 GB model.
Memory (RAM): A device with 4 GB of RAM or more is highly recommended for smooth performance.
Large models (over 1.75 GB): An iPad Pro is recommended for its higher memory.
Android graphics: Android devices must support the Vulkan API, which most modern devices already do.

Augmented reality (AR) on iOS

For augmented reality model viewing on iOS:
Minimum: An iPad with an A12 Bionic chip or newer.
Best performance: An iPad Pro with LiDAR (all iPad Pro models released after 2020 include LiDAR) for the most stable AR experience.

Additional notes

Procore periodically updates its system and hardware requirements. Students should review the official Procore requirements page for the most current compatibility information. If you have questions about whether your device meets the requirements for a VDCI Procore course, please contact Student Services before enrollment.
