In this video we are going to focus on the closet bars in the separate closet spaces. I'm going to close my blocks palette, we don't need it for this video, and I'm going to change my current layer to a counter.
Now we could have these bars that you hang clothes on a specific layer, but we're just going to put them on the a counter layer and treat it as kind of a built-in layer so that a carpenter would be addressing all of these features. All of these closet racks are going to be exactly 12 inches from the back wall of the closet. So let's zoom in here on this one first, and let's put in this bar.
It's going to be an offset, o enter, one feet enter, from here to here, enter to say that I'm done. Now that's a pretty simple offset for now. The first thing we want to do is migrate it, so I'll click the layer, change it to a counter, but the next thing we need to do is to add that line type style so we know that it's not just another cabinet.
That line type style is center two, and the line itself has a line type scale of 0.25 or one quarter. So first thing I want to do is to go to other, and I want to go to load, and choose my center two line type. I'll hit okay, and hit okay.
Now I can choose that line, right click properties. Over here, we want to change the line type to center two, and we want to change that line type scale to 0.25, enter. Perfect.
Now we have a line that is going to be representative of all of our closet line geometry. Now we can go around and do the rest of our offsets, and then we'll come back and do match properties. So let's come up into this closet, offset, enter, 12, enter for 12 inches, and now we can just start offsetting all of these lines.
As long as we remember what closets we've been in, we'll just return and match properties. So it's this one here, and this one here, and then the front closet here. So I've added the closet here, here, the two in these bedrooms, and then the front hall there.
Now I want to go to match properties up here in the properties palette, choose this line as my source, and then zoom in and choose all of these lines as my destination. I am matching the properties of that first line we changed so that we don't have to manually change the rest of the line properties. Zoom extents and control S to save.
While we are on the A counter layer, there's another built-in that you can see. There's a small desk or cabinet right here on the floor plan next to this bathroom. Let's draw that in really quickly.
I'm going to at this end point and go up and click enter to say I'm done. Enter to go back in. I'll go from this point over and click enter to say I'm done.
I think you might know why I drew those lines too short. I'm going to go to fillet, and I'll use fillet to extend those to a nice clean corner. Okay, there's two more built-ins that we can see.
They're over here in our laundry room area. They are keynoted on our keynotes as number six and number seven, and we can draw those in fairly quickly. Now, they aren't dimensioned on our handout, but I can tell you the dimensions right now.
Let's do our first offset, O, enter, and this is going to be two feet, enter. I'll bring that out and click enter to say I'm done. Enter to go back in, and this offset is going to be three feet, six, enter, from here to here, and here to here.
Enter to say that I'm done. Now, I'm going to fillet these from here to here first, and I'll go back in and from here to here second. Now, I can grab all of these geometries and change them to the A counter layer.
Escape, escape, escape, zoom extends, and control S to save. We don't need to work on that geometry anymore. They don't need to be rectangles or anything else.
If a more detailed plan is coming to specify those cabinets, we will be happy to draw it, but we don't have any other data on those cabinets right now. In the next video, we will continue working on the laundry room and kitchen. I'll see you in the next video.
