Begin with the fundamentals of Revit and BIM, then progress into the structural specifics of using Revit Structure in the BIM process. You will learn the professional workflows used in Structural Engineering offices.
Unit 1 30 Hours
In this Intro to Revit course for beginners, you learn how information is interrelated throughout the Revit (BIM) model using the Revit Architecture tools. This course examines how Revit users design 3D models that simultaneously document the project and generate 2D architectural drawings containing floor plans, elevations, and 3D perspective views. You will create a Building Information Model starting from a pre-made template, create floor plans, elevations, and 3D presentation views, place views on sheets, and print drawing sheets to PDF. You will be provided both source Revit files, which you will use to start your project, as well as videos that will guide you through the learning process.
Unit 2 30 Hours
In this online BIM class, you will learn more advanced methods to document a project in Revit Architecture. Topics include scheduling building components, using the family editor to create 2D and 3D components, refining graphics, and creating an abbreviated set of construction documents. In this online intermediate BIM class, you will explore advanced methods of documenting a building project in Revit Architecture by revising and continuing to develop an existing Revit model, exploring design options, creating custom schedules, and learning the skills required to create custom Revit families. By the end of this course, you will be able to turn a conceptual Revit model into an integrated and interoperable construction document set.
Unit 3 20 Hours
The Revit Structure I course is designed for individuals ready to take their first steps into the world of structural modeling and design. Whether you're an aspiring structural engineer, architect, or design professional, this introductory course equips you with the essential skills to use Autodesk Revit Structure efficiently and effectively. Through engaging lessons and hands-on practical exercises, you’ll gain fundamental knowledge of Revit Structure, including how to create basic structural models, work with families and templates, and understand essential structural elements such as beams, columns, and foundations. The course focuses on building a strong foundation to prepare you for more advanced Revit concepts down the road. This course uses the Revit Structure tools to create an accurate structural model of a real-world, four-story commercial project. You will develop a structural project from the very beginning and see its completion through all aspects of BIM modeling. You will gain an understanding of real-world practices for the effective integration of an interactive project with other disciplines.
Unit 4 30 Hours
Take your Revit structural design skills to the next level with the Revit Structure II course. Designed for professionals and students familiar with Revit’s basic structural tools, this intermediate course focuses on advanced techniques for modeling, analyzing, and documenting structural systems. You’ll deepen your expertise in creating complex structural models, refining workflows, and collaborating effectively within a BIM environment. You will continue the structural project started in the previous Revit Structure course using the Revit Structure tools. This course teaches you how to update the Revit Structure model elements, add annotations, set up detail sheets, create framing elevations and to create a completed set of structural construction documents for this four-story commercial project. By the conclusion of the course, you will gain valuable knowledge about the tools for modeling in Revit Structure and have an understanding of its intricacies.
Unit 5 30 Hours
Unlock the potential of Navisworks, a powerful project review software widely used in the architecture, engineering, and construction industries. This course is designed to provide you with a foundational understanding of Navisworks, enabling you to confidently collaborate and manage projects effectively. You will learn to use Navisworks to integrate Revit, 3D AutoCAD, and compatible software programs into a 3D Navisworks model. Within the Navisworks model, you will create clash detection between various architectural, structural, MEP, and fire-suppression systems. Learn the most efficient Navisworks workflow strategies to efficiently integrate various BIM models into clash detection analysis models. Learn from seasoned industry experts through hands-on training and realistic exercises, helping you build practical skills that align with professional standards. By the end of the course, you’ll be equipped to utilize Navisworks effectively for improved coordination and project success.
