Working as a finishing carpenter, I previously knew about details, but moving into a higher position, I needed to know everything I could about blueprints. This course was not a hard course and was easy to follow.

Great course.

I would rate the VDCI blueprint reading course a 5/5! What I enjoyed most was the slow and understandable explanations of the teacher’s voice. Very clear and easy to make sense of. I have been a roofer since the late 90's and switched to estimating re-roofs for the last 5 years. Now, thanks to the VDCI blueprint reading course, I have upgraded my estimating skills to also estimate on new construction projects. One more tool in my toolbox. Thank you very much!

I enjoyed how knowledgeable the instructors were and how informative the content was. I thought the videos were very thorough and well made. This course helped my career by increasing my knowledge of how to read plans and how to navigate them more quickly.

I liked this course because it was online and I was able to do it at my own pace on my own time anytime of day! This course gave me confidence in doing SketchUp drawings for clients and when reading blueprints.

Great course! I liked that it was online and that I could do it at my own pace. It was also affordable which was a huge bonus! I am a former teacher that made a career switch to the construction field. I wanted to learn estimating but had no clue how to read prints (or really anything about the field). My boss tried to teach me and it didn't go well… fast forward to VDCI’s course, I was learning quickly and easily and not from someone that “just knows” from years of experience. I’m now estimating for my company and have been for roughly a year!

I enjoyed that you can work on your own time, and repeat the items you have doubts about.

I was very pleased with how the instructor explained everything and the level of detail throughout the courses. I work for a General Contractor and use blueprints every day. These courses taught me everything I need to look for when reviewing a set of plans on the job and the meaning of different symbols architects use that aren’t necessarily explained in a legend or schedule. I have now been able to detail our scope of work more thoroughly and accurately because of these courses.

Key concepts are strategically reinforced, reminding the student of the concepts value at the right moments. The instructor intuitively understands how people learn, is clearly experienced and has outstanding communication skills. This course earns full stars for its quality. Even those with some experience reading blueprints will find it enhances their ability to navigate plans quickly and confidently.

I liked that it touched on different disciplines; it began teaching me the "lingo" of construction and it challenged me to ask outside questions to different people in the different fields to get clarification. As it relates to how it helped my career, it sparked a desire to learn more and in an interview for a Permit Technician position, there was a set of plans that was put before me, and was asked what would I do with them - I was hired for the position!

The drawings used for the class gives a great example to use for a large project. It also utilized 3D rendering to help elaborate what the drawing versus what it should look like. This gives people with little to no experience in the field the ability to visualize what they are looking at. I am Retiring from the military and this class is helping me launch into my next chapter of life! I am due to start my next role as a project engineer next month and I am excited to utilize the tools I learned about in this class.

I enjoyed that this course was virtual, and I had the option to go at my own pace. I had 0 prior knowledge of how to read blueprints prior to taking the course. I can now confidently say that I am able to!

I really appreciated VDCI’s hands-on, project-based training style. It allowed me to immediately apply what I was learning, which made complex concepts easier to understand and retain. It was very helpful and informative, clear & concise. I liked the narrator's voice the best. It was calm with a little bass and engaging. It fit nicely to a video presentation. This course helped my career on some bigger builds for what my company does. I'm glad I took it.

This course has made me literate in blueprints which has tremendously upped my game in permitting, and also allowed me to establish an additional leg under my “career table” around the discipline of residential estimating. I enjoyed the self paced course work the most

I enjoyed that the classes were available online and let the learning be at your own pace. VDCI’s Training helped me in my current job I have today by providing me knowledge of plan reading and estimating as I am now doing small project estimating for the company I work for and I’m so happy I took these classes to build my career I have now!

Easy to follow!

I enjoyed the fact that I could work on the training at home with my own blueprints in front of me from work. It made it much easier to see the real world applications of the information being given to me. The training helped my career by polishing the skills I already have. I knew how to read blueprints going into the training, but the training made me better and more efficient at it. I've shaved hours off my weekly schedule that used to be devoted to reading plans.

Very helpful information and work style.

Great Course, Great Instructor, great content and overall, an extremely beneficial flow of coursework and lecture! My instructor checked in on me when I became busy with life and was away from the course. Also was extremely timely when responding to my questions. Overall, great at lecturing within the videos and made the videos in small subsections that allowed for breaks as opposed to long nonstop lecture.
