I definitely learned a ton about reading blueprints for residential projects, and it is quickly becoming useful in my job. I would definitely recommend this course for people that want to deepen their knowledge about blueprints and residential or commercial projects!
I think the Courses are great, its been a huge confidence booster. I love the fact that it's self-paced. As Someone who is new to the construction industry, VDCI has given me a solid foundation and understanding of blueprint reading. I feel that I can instantly apply what I have learned to the field. This program has boosted my knowledge as well as my confidence. I look forward to taking other courses, as I have been quite pleased with my first experience.
I highly recommend this to anyone that is getting into a field where they will need to know how to read and interpret drawings and blueprints. Even if someone has some experience with it already, more than likely they will still be able to take away some new knowledge. The courses were very straight forward and to the point. I have zero experience with anything residential but going forward I feel I have a much better knowledge base and more confidence. I was able to learn a lot and I know I will be able to apply it to my current job and become an even more valuable employee.
After taking the Blueprint Reading Course, I feel confident in starting a new career in sales in the construction industry. Very good informative class for someone who is new to blueprint reading.
The experience was eye opening and showed me that my current skill set is at a higher, perceptive, leadership level than what the world portrays or I even imagined. This class really helped me understand a breakdown of the plans a lot better. The teacher was able to explain thoroughly what each class will focus on and gave detailed descriptions of each item he was referring to. I had a great experience in learning this course! The classes were great and very informative. I enjoyed learning more about the commercial side. I work with custom homes. I am new to construction so it gave me a good depth of knowledge with blueprints. I feel I am better equipped to communicate with trades and the owners.

It was really great course. I like how the instructor took his time to explain everything at a good pace. It was not too fast, not too slow. I also like that throughout the whole lecture he kept repeating things that we had went over intentionally as he gave the lecture to really make us be aware of certain things. It is a great way to ensure we understand the topic that he is going through at that moment. I am now able to understand and do my job better as I look at blue prints all day.
I liked how easy it was to make my own time to view the videos and not feel rushed going through the information. It was very easy to use the chat boards and the couple of times I reached out to teachers I got responses quickly. I've now got more confidence opening plans and flipping through them to find the information from a main page, to the details.

I most enjoyed the modular approach and the ability for me to train at my pace. As a result, I am more comfortable with terminology and I understand better what I am looking at, whether that is on paper or on site. Thanks to the course, I can be given a set of drawings and be bettered equipped to turn those into reality!
I would give the course a perfect score 5 out of 5! I enjoyed the fact that this class focused on both big picture and also granular details. It did a great job of explaining Site Plans and Cover Pages, as well as details and building sections. It was great to see how you can start at the site plan and zoom in to the details, and how to get from one to another. It helps show how the entire building is connected and how everything comes together. This course just completely checks the box if you need to know how to read and interpret architectural drawings. I work in construction and it is absolutely necessary how to read plans. I now have the ability to walk clients through building designs and explain how things are going to look, based on the plans. Everything starts with the drawings. You'd also be shocked at the fact that by taking this class, you probably have a better understanding than a lot of guys out there doing the work. This is a great class for ANYONE. Men, women, especially the younger generation. I literally think there's a case that this should be taught in high school classrooms. There is no downside to taking this class. Who wouldn't want to be able to understand building plans? It will 100% come in useful at some point.

This course was easy to sign up for and easy to use. Once I received my certificate, it helped me with my interview to get into the elevator union. While taking my classes with IUEC, I already had a foundation for blueprint reading due to my courses taking with VDCI.

I enjoyed the confidence and ease the coursework provided. The instructor who taught in the videos brought great perspective to assist with retaining new information. Many of the terms I could not understand when reading blueprints, were easy to catch on after doing the training and finishing the quizzes. This way of teaching made learning enjoyable and empowering enough for me to enroll in another course soon as I am able to! VDCI's training has assisted me in my career with being able to understand blueprints a bit more fluently to where I can assist the civil engineer with bidding opportunities which has helped amplify the pace of being awarded more projects. Having said that, It has also helped me with a raise in my salary and has helped me with communicating with subcontractors and my own co-workers.

What I liked most about my VDCI training is the ability to do it on my own time and in the comfort of my own home. As well as the website ease of use. This course allowed me to brush up on situations I do not commonly deal with in my place of employment. It enabled me to deal with these situations in my workplace in real time with the confidence that I got from the training.
I was very hesitant at first, but after starting the courses and going through the motions of the lessons, flowed very well. Never felt rushed to get through my courses and received constant communication from professors letting me know I can ask them any question I had.
Working as a finishing carpenter, I previously knew about details, but moving into a higher position, I needed to know everything I could about blueprints. This course was not a hard course and was easy to follow.
