Discover the next steps of the REVA MEP course for Mechanical, as we delve deeper into populating building models with complex systems. Learn how to create families, use mechanical connectors, and establish connection points, all while adding to your model.
Key Insights
- The REVA MEP course for Mechanical involves adding exhaust and mini split systems to building models, enhancing the functionality and complexity of the model.
- Creating 'families' and using mechanical connectors is a crucial part of the process, as these establish connection points akin to those on rooftop equipment.
- As the model develops, more annotations and sheets are created, gradually building a comprehensive and detailed architectural record.
Note: These materials offer prospective students a preview of how our classes are structured. Students enrolled in this course will receive access to the full set of materials, including video lectures, project-based assignments, and instructor feedback.
Welcome back to the VDCI video course content for the REVA MEP course for Mechanical. In the previous videos, we went ahead and populated the southern portion of our building on the first and second floors with our supply and return systems. We want to go ahead and then also we populated this area down here to the southeast of the building.
Next, we're going to start adding more systems to this model. We're going to be adding an exhaust system over the We're also going to go ahead and be adding what's called a mini split system up here in the electrical room. And in that mini split, we'll be going ahead and talking about how do we create families and how do we use mechanical connectors to establish the connection points, similar to what we had on our rooftop equipment.
And then here in the gym, we're going to start looking at some larger scale duct also with on duct diffusers, which is something that REVA MEP has added to be able to have shorter runs, but just have the diffusers directly on the duct. If I look at my 3D view here, in the previous grouping of videos, we went ahead and populated some mechanical equipment and the different air handling units. We also populated, talked about different strategies of placing air terminals, creating the flex duct and connecting these into the VAVs, where then we may tie it into the main supply.
We're going to be adding a lot more to this model. And then as we go through it, we'll be creating more annotations and more sheets. Looking forward to spending time with you and I'll see you in the next video.
