Now let's create the scooter's first vertical stem. We'll begin by going to the top of our project browser and activating the top line component. From here we can go to Create and select New Component.
In the New Component window, we can give it a name. We'll call it Stem A and the parent should be the top line of our browser. Then we'll click OK.
Here in Stem A, we want to create a construction plane. We'll go to the Construct menu and select Offset Plane. We'll click the center plane with zero offset and click OK.
Let's expand that stem component and look at the construction folder. We have that center plane. We'll call it Stem Center.
Maybe we'll even specify Stem A Center. From here we want to go to Create Sketch. We want to create the sketch on our Stem Center plane.
We'll start with the line command. We'll zoom into the center of our hub of the front wheel, click one time, and pull our cursor away. We'll kind of go up and to the left.
We'll type in 110, so one zero, and then we'll hit TAB on our keyboard and we'll select our degrees at 106 and Enter. That gets us to the top of our fork. Then we will switch that line over to a construction line.
We'll select it one time with our cursor, right click, and select Normal Construction. This is a construction line, only to get us to the top of the fork. From here, we'll create the line that we'll use.
We'll go back to the line command, click the top of that construction line, and go straight up and to the left. Now that we already have our construction line, Fusion recognizes that line and gives us the parallel constraint. It's two blue lines next to each other.
As long as that constraint is active, we'll notice that the degrees are set to 106. Now we can type in our distance, which is 400. Do 400 and click Enter.
There we go. That looks pretty good. Now that we have our sketch, we can click Finish Sketch and go to the Create menu and select Pipe.
We'll select the Pipe command, which gives us a tube. We're going to select our path that we just drew. We'll click on that path and we want to type in our section size.
Whatever the default might be, we'll change that over to 34. We also want to check that hollow box and give our section thickness of 4. We also want to make sure that the operation is set to New Body and click OK. This will give us a Bodies folder.
We'll open that up. Right now it's set to a generic name. We'll select that and call this Stem A. We'll zoom out and take a look.
Everything looks pretty good here. All we need to do is go back and activate the top component right here in our project browser, the top line, and click that Save button.
