In this video, we're going to discuss editing datum and coordinate properties for individual points and doing a mass transform of points using the Datum button. So to do this, we're going to go ahead and navigate over to some of the points that we manually created over here on the right hand side of the screen.
I'm going to zoom in and then I'm going to drop a window across some of the points that we've created. Once you do this, the Contextual Ribbon Bar for COGO points should show up at the top of the screen. And then you're going to navigate over to the Edit List Points.
When you've selected that, the Panorama window for your points that you've selected should show up. And inside of here, as we've shown in previous videos, you can modify individual point locations, easting and northing and elevations by simply clicking in the box for that point and changing the text for these points. For example, this point 103, I could change the elevation of it to 200 and hit ENTER.
And that point will now have an elevation of 200. So I'm going to go ahead and click the check mark to close this window. Now, if we wanted to change all of the points that we have selected by a set number, you can do that.
You can change the elevation by selecting the Datum button. If you select Datum, Civil 3D will prompt you for a Change in Elevation. So to raise points, you're going to choose a positive Change in Elevation and to lower points, you're going to choose a negative Change in Elevation.
So, for example, we're going to go ahead and change all of these points by raising them 50 feet by typing in +50. I'm going to hit ENTER and Civil 3D is going to bring up the Contextual Ribbon Bar again. I'm going to go ahead and select Edit List Points again.
And inside of this window, what you'll notice is that all of the points have now been raised by 50 feet. In the next video, we're going to discuss the creation of point groups.
