Bluebeam System Requirements

Bluebeam Revu is, at its core, a powerful PDF reader and editor widely used in the AEC (Architecture, Engineering, and Construction) industry. While it excels at managing PDF documents, it’s important to note that performance can significantly slow down when working with PDFs containing a large number of pages, high-resolution images, or complex graphics. This can impact your workflow, especially when handling detailed architectural plans, construction drawings, or other large format documents essential to drafting and engineering tasks.

Below are the minimum system requirements recommended by Bluebeam to use Revu effectively. These requirements are crucial for ensuring smooth operation, particularly when working on demanding projects within the AEC sector. Keep in mind, as new versions of Bluebeam Revu are released, these system requirements may change to accommodate new features and capabilities. It’s essential to stay updated with the latest information to maintain efficiency in your professional workflows. For the most up-to-date information on Bluebeam Revu’s system requirements and to ensure your setup is optimized for architectural drafting, construction documentation, and engineering tasks, visit Bluebeam’s website.

Bluebeam Revu Minimum Requirements

Display

1024 x 768

A display driver supporting OpenGL 3.0 or above is required to display 360° photos.

A display driver supporting either OpenGL® 3.2 (or above) or OpenGL® ES 3.0 (or above) is required.

Processor

Desktops and laptops: 1 GHz processor or equivalent (recommended, see below)

Tablets: Intel i3 processor or equivalent

Revu currently does not support ARM processors, like those found in the Surface Pro X.

RAM

8 GB

Hard Disk

At least 5 GB of available space may be required

Using Revu with Typical Office Documents

When using Revu for general office applications, a mid-range computer that meets the above requirements may be used.

Using Revu with Large Sets of Engineering Documents

When working with large drawing sets (for example, construction project bid sets) in which the PDFs may contain hundreds of large format drawings, it is recommended that workstations have adequate memory and processor resources.

A recommended hardware configuration would be an Intel i5 Dual Core or better processor and at least 8 GB of RAM.

Revu can run on systems with lower specifications; however, a workstation with these specifications will provide the optimal performance.
