AutoCAD Fundamentals Fast-Track Program

I always thought I already knew AutoCAD, but after finishing CAD101 I realized I actually didn’t know much at all. The instructor showed me so many tools that I’ve been using, but I was using them wrong this whole time. Even just after the intro of this course, I knew it’s going to be worth it!

Very informative! I am very pleased with my experience overall. I definitely walked away with a better understanding of AutoCAD software and best practices. Even though I've done other AutoCAD certifications, this one provided excellent workflows and taught me so many tips and tricks to be a more efficient drafter. Definitely recommend if you're looking to gain AutoCAD experience or even to improve your skills!

My favorite part was how much explanation went into each video for AutoCAD, as well as the ability to contact and work with a teacher when there were things not translating from video to in person work. The training played a large role in my job as a plan designer and helped me better hone my basic skills when working within AutoCAD/ Civil3d.

I really enjoyed the class. The help resources are there if you need additional help but the videos are very informative on their own. I would 100% recommend this course to anyone who has never used AutoCAD before. The structure of the course allows you to go at your own pace, videos are in sections which allows you to not feel overwhelmed. The course itself helps you feel like you are reaching milestones after finishing each lesson which motivates you to continue. I will definitely continue my learning through VDCI!

When life threw me a curveball at 58 yrs old, I unexpectedly lost my job in retail management for a very minor mistake. Taking stock of my situation: I have a mortgage and all of the associated cost and I am the sole caretaker for my 90-yr old Parents, one with Alzheimer's and the other with Vascular Dementia. Plus, I have limited savings... But enough to do something better. Fifteen years ago I had my favorite job ever as a Certified 2D and 3D Architectural CAD Designer. I was laid off from WET Design (the choreographed fountain people - I worked on projects like The Burj Dubai, the Fountains at Bellagio, etc.) along with two-hundred other people when the Architectural field tanked in '09. I decided to pursue a job that fed my passion for design and that would bring me back in alignment with my Artists' Heart. I began looking for a way to catch up with the software and get the dust off of my old skills. Recertification was even better! I can't express how grateful I am to VDCI for offering a course such as this - I am now equipped to return to my passion field and love what I do instead of dread it. The cost was attainable, the subject was exactly what I was looking for, the online and self-paced natures of the class made it possible for me to complete and the brevity of the class made it doable with the time-sensitivity of my situation. The class was well designed, the videos clear and concise and my Instructor, John O'Malley, was kind, understanding, knowledgeable and patient. Thank you!

I learned how to use AutoCAD confidently, and it really helped me connect what I already knew from civil engineering to real drafting work. The course was informative and easy to follow along. I feel like I have a good introduction to AutoCAD and am excited to continue learning. I really liked how I could rewatch the videos in entirety, pause them at times, and rewind when needed. The instructor was very easily reachable as well when I felt I needed a little extra help. I work for a material handling company where we are often asked to maximize warehouse space for efficiency. AutoCAD helps greatly to achieve this goal and the VDCI courses do a wonderful job in breaking down the AutoCAD functionality so that it works towards our intended purposes. The offered courses at VDCI are a great investment for anyone looking to utilize AutoCAD to its full potential. The course was paced really well and wasn't overwhelming. The instructor did a good job not skipping steps just because they had to be repeated. In my opinion, a big part of the learning curve with AutoCAD is repetition so that the workflow becomes ingrained. The course does well with this methodology.

I like being able to work at my own pace for the online training. It was a great introduction course for me to start a new career path in drafting and permitting.

I enjoyed being challenged to learn something new. Very good course for novice CAD users who haven’t done it since earlier education. It helped me to understand programming for our CNCs in the stone industry.

I had a fantastic experience taking AutoCAD courses through VDCI. From start to finish, the program was well-structured, informative, and incredibly practical for needing a self paced program. What really stood out to me was how hands-on the coursework was, I really enjoyed the hands-on quizzes they provided. The pacing was manageable, even with a busy schedule, and the support team was responsive whenever I had questions or needed assistance. I will say the quizzes were over smaller details that I wish the videos went over more, but it was still doable. I highly recommend VDCI. The training I received not only strengthened my technical abilities but also prepared me to apply those skills in a professional setting. I’m grateful for the experience and proud of the progress I made.

Amazing experience with VDCI! I have never touched AutoCAD before I started my class with VDCI and I was so nervous. My current job was allowing me to get a promotion to the CAD department pending how I did in this class. I had the class during COVID when all employees worked from home so that added to my nervousness because I wouldn’t have anyone there to ask for help with anything. But the instructor was very informative, everything was hands on, you could rewatch the lessons until you got the hang of it. Very user friendly. After passing this course and learning so much in a short amount of time, I was granted a promotion to the CAD department along with a raise, and I enjoy all I have been able to accomplish since then! This course made me fall in love with my job.

The instructor clearly explained how the program worked and I really enjoyed making the layout in AutoCAD which is a process I’ve always been interested in. After taking the class I was able to move into a role at work that I had been striving for years to get.

Great knowledge. It is a must for anyone from any background. An essential tool for the rest of your life. I am a general contractor. While I was taking the course, I used the knowledge to make a plan for repairs of a 4000 sqft property. I had the building engineer, who was hired by the owner to look at it. He reviewed did some minor correction and put his seal on it and it got approved. Thanks to VDCI’s AutoCAD course. Highly recommend it.
