This training will definitely help my career. I was able to show my supervisor and co-workers what the software programs have to offer and what I'm capable of when the time comes for creating that construction design team in the future. I was able to provide documentation to my employer that the money spent was well worth it. The training I received at VDCI will become an asset moving forward.

Color theory is one of the most powerful tools in an interior designer’s toolkit. This course provides a comprehensive study of how color works (scientifically, psychologically, and practically) and how to apply it with purpose in real-world design projects. Students will learn to analyze perception, master harmonies, and develop palettes that are not only visually compelling but also inclusive, brand-aligned, and client-ready.
Interior spaces rely heavily on color to set tone, mood, and functionality. From creating inviting homes to designing accessible public environments, understanding color systems and harmonies allows designers to transform concepts into impactful experiences. This course bridges technical knowledge with design practice, helping participants develop the confidence to apply color choices thoughtfully in both digital and physical spaces.
Color influences how people feel, behave, and interact within an environment. It can make a room feel larger, warmer, calmer, or more energizing, and even affect legibility and safety. By studying color theory, interior designers gain the ability to make intentional decisions that enhance mood, brand identity, and inclusivity. Whether you’re designing for a client, a brand, or your own creative practice, mastering color is critical to producing work that resonates and endures.

She is committed to making design approachable, inspiring students to gain confidence in their skills as they create meaningful interiors.
