Hello, and welcome to the CAD Teacher VDCI video series for Revit Project Management. In this video, we're going to take a look at overlaying the DWF markups in Revit, adding comments and making the corrections, and then also sending it back to the DWF file. So what I'm going to do is I'm going to go to my A1.1, because that was the sheet that we marked up, and then I'm going to go to my Insert tab, and then we have a button, a tool here for DWF markups, so I'm going to click on that.

And we want to import the markup with our changes, so the one that has your initials and markup on there, and click Open. Okay, it tells me right away that there's markups on this sheet, so I'll select the sheet that we want to add the link to and click OK. And you can see the link from DWF came right in, and when I click on it, there's actually a series of properties, so it tells you the creator, that's the computer name, and then the status.

If I were to go in and make these changes, so this is my level one view, so simply by activating the view, I can adjust now my room tag, so it's no longer in conflict with the junction box and data outlet. Now I can select that markup, and I can change its status from None, which is hazardous and hasn't been handled yet, to For Review, and now it's ready to be reviewed by a project manager. So same thing, if we went in and say added some furring to the column here, and I'll just kind of rough that in a little bit, I can then make the same remark, so I can say status, and I can say For Review.

So let's say there was something that we weren't too clear on, like add furring to column, well we have more options here, maybe it's going to be stone or some type of a feature item within the lobby. So I can select that, and I can say Question, and then I can go in, and then we can actually add notes to this, so right here it says Notes, I can click Edit, and then I can say what type of furring do we want to use, and leave a note for the person who might be reviewing it. If we go to our Manage tab, and then Manage Links, which we actually made a button for, I've got a tab now for DWF markups.

So you can see that I've got my markup located right here. So what you want to make sure and do is make sure you don't have your DWF file open, I've got it open right now, but I wouldn't be able to save it as, so if I click Save Markups, which is what we want to do, I'm going to get an error because that file is open, so it's telling me right now it can't save back to that file because it's open in another program. So I'm going to just cancel the update, and then I'll go ahead and close Design Review, and now I'll hit Save Markups, and what it's going to do is it's going to save the changes I made to those markups back to that DWF file.
