Hello and welcome back to Revit Structure. Let's get started. What we're going to do in this video is create a schedule sheet and produce a schedule for our spread footings.

We have already created other schedules, so let's get started. The first thing we’re going to do is create a new sheet. This time we’ll go to the View tab, in the Sheet Composition panel.

We'll pick that, and you’ll see it gives us the same options we would have if we had right-clicked on Sheets and created a new sheet. Click OK*. And here we have our new sheet.

We want to divide this into segmented areas, so let’s go back to one of our previous sheets. Let’s select our lines. Again, copying is faster than redrawing.

Let’s copy that. Let’s close this view. Let’s return to our new sheet space.

Go to Modify*. We want to use Align to Current View*. Let’s pick that, and you’ll see it gives us the same grid that we had on Sheet 7.1. Let’s go ahead and rename this sheet as Sheet S.8.1. Let’s call it Schedules*.

Very good. Sheet S.8.1 – Schedules*. Now we want to create our first schedule.

Go to View > Schedules*. Expand the dropdown. We want to create a schedule of quantities for our footings.

Let’s pick that. It opens the New Schedule dialog box. This dialog allows us to choose a category for our schedule. Let’s scroll down.

It’s under Structural Foundation*, so let’s pick that. Let’s rename it Spread Footing Schedule*. Click OK*.

Now we’re in the Schedule Properties*. This is important. This is where we define which parameters will display information pulled from our model.

The first thing we want to add is Type Mark*. This is why we placed type marks on elements when modeling. We’ll also add Type*, which gives us the size.

Click Add*. Now we want to add a custom parameter. It’s going to be a Text parameter.

We’ll call it Footing Reinforcement*. Now scroll down to set the parameter type.

Choose Text*. We’ll be inputting values manually based on information from the Structural Engineer. Click OK*.

The last field we want is Comments*. This will allow for design notes or clarifications.

Now move on to Filter*. We want to filter by Type Mark and ensure it includes the prefix we used, which is “F–”.

Next, go to Sorting/Grouping*. Sort by Type Mark*, in ascending order (F-1, F-2, etc.).

Now go to Formatting*. This is where we set the display names for each column header.

*Type Mark will display as Mark (because it represents the mark shown on plans). Center-align the text.

*Type represents the size. Center-align that as well.

*Footing Reinforcement will display as Reinforcement*.

*Comments will display as Remarks*. Left-align the remarks column.

Double-check alignment:—Mark*: center-aligned—Type*: center-aligned—Reinforcement*: center-aligned—Remarks*: left-aligned

Go to Appearance*. We do not want any blank rows.

Under Sorting/Grouping*, uncheck “Itemize every instance.” This will consolidate like items into a single row. Click OK and the schedule should now appear with your footings listed.

Very good. Let’s close that.

Now that it’s created, it appears under Schedules/Quantities in the Project Browser*, alongside the previously created schedules.

We have a Column Schedule*, Grade Beam Schedule*, Spread Footing Schedule*, and Steel Column Schedule*. Let’s begin dragging them into our sheet. First, drag in the Concrete Column Schedule*.

Next, drag in the Steel Column Schedule*. Then drag in our newly created Spread Footing Schedule and the Grade Beam Schedule*. Let’s line them up.

Now let’s clean up the layout. Each mark line is a delimiter for its corresponding schedule panel. We can stretch them out and resize as needed.

Let’s organize them neatly. Okay, now our schedules are cleaned up and well-organized. Let’s move them into the center of each panel.

Align each one. Let’s move this over. Align it.

Stretch this column to ensure text is fully visible. Place the last one in.

Let’s adjust its position and stretch it slightly so all data is easily readable. Zoom out.

There you have it. All of the Type Marks we placed in the drawing have now populated into our schedules on the final sheet. Spread Footings*, Grade Beams*, Columns*—everything is accounted for.

Let’s perform a Zoom All*. Very good. It looks great.
