Discover the importance of having correctly set wall heights in 3D modelling, as it significantly impacts the subsequent steps in the process. Learn about the different wall types and their distinct heights to facilitate smooth construction.
Key Insights
- Three distinct wall heights are crucial in 3D modelling, specifically the exterior walls, interior walls, and the two structures forming the bottom of the building.
- The accurate location of these walls assists in the progression of the modelling process.
- Specific settings are required for each type of wall: interior walls should have a top constraint of roof, exterior walls should be set to top of parapet, and the two walls forming the lobby must be set up to level two with a top offset of eight foot eight.

Let's go ahead and switch to our 3D view and take a look at what we've created so far. When you look at the walls, you can see we should have three distinct heights: the exterior walls, the interior walls, and these two that we created just now at the bottom of the building. Those will be slightly lower.
And it's important that we have these at the right location because it will help us with some of our next steps here. If you're noticing that some of the walls are different, ensure that your interior walls are set to the top constraint of the roof, your exterior walls are set to the top of the parapet, and the two walls forming the lobby should be set to 'Up to Level 2' with a top offset of 8 feet 8 inches.
