Let's complete our scooter assembly by adding in the grips for the handlebars. First, a little housekeeping. Let's minimize the joints folder and relationships folder to give ourselves more room to work.
Now let's go ahead and look down at our grips. We have grip 1 and one called grip 1 mirror. That's kind of confusing, so let's rename grip 1 mirror to grip 2. We'll click one time on it and click a second time.
That lets us change the name. We'll type grip 2 and click enter on our keyboard to lock it in. From here, let's unhide grip 1. Grip 1 looks really good, but it is a fusion form, meaning it's a free-flowing shape and might be difficult to assemble.
There's a trick to assemble fusion forms. If we expand our grip 1 component and expand the sketches folder and turn on the grip profile, we can use this sketch for assembly. Let's go up to the assemble area and click on joint.
For our component 1, which is grip 1, we can keep the origin mode at simple and select on that sketch circle. We hover over it, it turns blue, and we click one time to select. That's it.
Now for component 2, the handlebars, we'll change our origin mode over to between two faces. We will grab and click that right face of the handlebar and then rotate over and click that left face. Now we need a snap point, so we'll click one time right in the center and we're good to go.
Just that simple. Let's click on the motion tab here and preview the motion. We'll see that grip and the handlebar are now locked together.
Go ahead and click okay. Now in our relationships folder, let's expand that. Expand the joints folder.
We have that rigid relationship down at the bottom. Let's click two times, give it a new name. We'll call it rigid grip 1 and click enter.
There it is. That looks pretty good. Let's go ahead and minimize this folder again so we have plenty of room to work.
For now, let's click off into nothing. Nothing is selected. Now we need to work on grip 2. Let's go ahead and unhide it and expand it.
This one does not have a sketches folder, so we're going to have to create our own. First, we need to activate grip 2. Hover over grip 2 and click the activate component. This expands our construction folder so we see that grip center there.
Now click off so nothing is selected and we want to create a sketch. Where do we want to create that sketch? Let's click grip center. Now Fusion is saying we're going way back in time to our grip 2 and do you want to capture that position? We don't need to at this moment.
We'll go ahead and click revert position. Now let's zoom back up towards the top right to our handlebar area and we can even orbit to kind of look at it from the side. Zoom right to the center and under the create menu we're going to find project include.
We will select project. What do we want to project? We want to project that circle that we used for grip 1. Hover over it and click one time. Then click okay and now finish sketch.
Now inside of grip 2 we have this sketch. We can select it and give it a new name. Let's call this projected circle and click enter.
There it is. That looks pretty good. Now we are ready for assembly.
Let's go ahead and go back to our top line and click activate component. Now we have that top line activated. Now a little more housekeeping.
We are pretty much done with grip 1 so inside grip 1 we can hide grip profile and minimize the sketches folder. Minimize the grip 1 folder and let's hide grip 1 so it's just out of the way. Now we can come up to assemble.
We'll click on that assemble joint button and our component 1 is grip 2. We'll keep the origin mode simple and let's hover over that little circle that we just created and click one time. Let's see the result. Component 1 should now be set to grip 2. Now we can select component 2 and we'll change our origin mode to between two faces.
It's our trusty handlebar again so we'll first click the right side face and now the left side face and for our snap point right in the center. With that we can go to the motion tab and make sure the type is set to rigid and click play for preview. If that looks good we can click ok and minimize grip 2 and open up our relationships folder.
Open our joints folder. Click on that final rigid and we'll call this one grip 2. Enter locks that in and go ahead and mash that save button.
