In specifications, there are three parts. Part 1, Part 2, and Part 3. Part 1 is called the general part. So there's a standard format that happens for all sections within a specification document.
In the general area, we have a summary. We reference related sections elsewhere in the product specs. We will have references to different codes.
We will have information about product submittals, including information such as shop drawings. We will talk about quality assurance. We will mention pre-installation meetings, project conditions, and sequencing, which is the order in which systems are installed.
There will frequently also be discussions of warranties for the product being installed. So again, standard format is that there is a general section, a summary, related sections within the specifications. There might be definitions that are in here, references to codes, a discussion of submittals, discussions of quality assurance, about the pre-installation meetings, delivery, storage, and handling, project conditions, and sequencing.
