Explore the intricacies and complexities of technology systems drawings, specifically focusing on the legends and symbols page. Gain a deeper understanding of the general format, including notes, symbols, mounting heights, and more.
Key Insights
- The legends and symbols page in technology systems drawings includes a variety of elements such as general notes, symbols, descriptions, and mounting heights, specifically for telecommunications voice data.
- The page also provides insights into security systems and technology systems raceways, which are conduits or hangers where technology cables are bundled together.

Note: These materials offer prospective students a preview of how our classes are structured. Students enrolled in this course will receive access to the full set of materials, including video lectures, project-based assignments, and instructor feedback.
Let's look at the first of our technology systems drawings: the legends and symbols page. So I'm going to zoom in here. You'll notice that the overall general format is similar to what we've seen before.
There are general notes, symbols, and descriptions. This page also includes mounting heights. It covers telecommunications, voice, and data systems.
There's also information for the security systems and technology system raceways. The raceways are usually conduit or hangers where the technology cables are bundled together. We have the abbreviations, audio/video field device symbology, graphical standards we've seen throughout the project, and the sheet index for the telecommunications pages.
So again, very similar to what we've seen before. One of the nice things is that they're including the mounting height for the equipment. If you'd like, please spend some time, zoom in and become more familiar with this legend and symbols page.
