## Overview

This Civil 3D course is designed for professional designers, engineers, contractors, and others looking to advance their skills or improve their career opportunities. The focus is on intermediate civil engineering tools used for transportation design within the Civil 3D environment. You’ll work with key roadway design elements, becoming familiar with alignments, surface and design profiles, profile view windows, assemblies, corridors, intersections, sample lines, cross sections, and 3D visualization.

Coursework centers on building and refining transportation models by creating multiple alignment types, developing and labeling surface and design profiles, and adjusting profile view windows for clarity. You’ll construct corridors with the required sub-elements, including cul-de-sacs and intersection corridors, generate sample lines and cross sections, and visualize roadway designs through 3D drive-throughs. The course emphasizes practical, job-ready workflows that reflect how Civil 3D is used on real transportation projects.

## What you'll learn

- Create multiple types of alignments.
- Develop surface and design profiles.
- Adjust profile view windows.
- Label both alignments and profiles.
- Build corridors with the required sub-elements and create a cul-de-sac.
- Create an intersection corridor and create sample lines along a corridor.
- Display cross sections.
- Visualize a roadway in a 3-dimensional drive-through.
