## Overview

This course zeroes in on the work that happens at the end of a project, when details matter and everything starts coming together. As the fourth course in the Construction Fundamentals series, it covers interior finishes and site components that take a building from structure to completed space. You’ll walk through interior walls and partitions, drywall types and finishes, and the sequence for installing finishes like paint, flooring, ceilings, casework, specialties, and furniture. On the site side, the course explores asphalt paving design considerations, curb and gutter installation, hardscape options such as paths, drives, and walls, and the sequencing of landscaping and final site work.

Beyond materials and methods, the course focuses on how finishing work is planned and managed. You’ll learn how to select the right materials for durability and appearance, coordinate effectively with designers, contractors, and subcontractors, and maintain quality through inspections and compliance with design specifications. Budgeting and scheduling are also key themes, giving you the tools to manage timelines and costs during the finishing phases so projects wrap up smoothly and meet expectations.
