## Overview

This course focuses on the essentials of fire protection system design using Autodesk Revit. Using Revit, you will design and create a fire suppression system in a real-world educational facility. Topics include sprinkler system overview and sheet setup, modeling sprinklers and piping in classrooms, as well as corridors, and creating annotations and construction documents. You will master the tools Revit has for MEP and will develop workflows that are consistent across disciplines within the industry. Finally, you will convert their 3D model into a set of construction sheets to illustrate their design on a two-dimensional set of plans. By the end of this course, you will create a coordinated model of a fire sprinkler system within the building.

- **Introduction to Fire Protection Design in Revit:** Understand the fundamentals of fire protection system design and its importance in building safety. Gain insights into national fire codes and standards to ensure compliance in all your designs.
- **Creating Sprinkler and Fire Suppression Systems:** Utilize Revit's tools to model fire sprinkler systems, suppression networks, and other essential components. Learn to adjust system parameters to meet project-specific needs.
- **Layout and Coordination of Fire Protection Systems:** Incorporate fire protection systems seamlessly into overall building models while addressing potential design conflicts. Coordinate designs with mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems efficiently.
- **Hydraulic Analysis Basics:** Perform preliminary hydraulic analysis for your fire protection systems to evaluate flow rates and pipe sizes. Ensure systems meet safety and operational requirements.
- **Creating Accurate Construction Documents:** Develop detailed plans and sections to produce precise, code-compliant construction documents. Leverage Revit’s annotation tools to enhance documentation quality.
- **Using Schedules for Fire Protection Components:** Generate accurate schedules for key system components, such as pipes, fittings, and sprinklers, for use during construction and procurement processes.
